I am a huge fan of them.
In recent memory here are some of my faves:
The Bridge, chronicling suicides and the impact on their friends and families of people who jump from the San Fran Golden Gate bridge. They do catch some on camera, so be warned... It is a fascinating glimpse into the reactions of strangers and loved ones of someone who chooses to take their own life.
The King of Kong. A film following the two biggest guys in the arcade game of KING KOng. They both chase the record one is a huge star in the arcade world, the other a regular guy.. Such an interesting story. AND I hear from one of the MCR guys they are due for a rematch!!
This one I just watched tonight, "Dear Zachary", a film made for a son that will never know his father.. The film follows the case of the murder of a man and interviews with his friends and family as they tell stories of the guy who was a beloved doctor and friend.. and the horror his parents endured in dealing with his murderer.
This last one is heartbreaking. I cried and cried and cried. If a story is told well, it doesn't matter that you didn't know they person involved, you will feel empathy for them. This is on you will feel for.
Anybody else got some documentaries they love? There are many more I like, but this is all for now.

I can't remember the titles of them, but i do love the horizon ones. They are only on every now and again, they are like psychological investigations and they are just brilliant.
Dispatches are quite good documentaries as well.
I also enjoy documentaries that they have on murderers sometimes on sky 1. It's always interesting to look into the minds of killers. I don't sound psycho do i?
Oooh, i just remembered Ross Kemp's documentaries. They are really interesting, especially the one he does in afghanistan.
Do Ross Kemp's ones count as documentaries?
I'm unsure what a documentary is defined as... _________________ *Upcoming Gigs*

I think they would be documentaries. Without googling it, I suppose anything real that is filmed and unscripted would class as a documentary?
This is what wiki says:
Documentary film is a broad category of visual expression that is based on the attempt, in one fashion or another, to "document" reality. Although "documentary film" originally referred to movies shot on film stock, it has subsequently expanded to include video and digital productions that can be either direct-to-video or made for a television series. Documentary, as it applies here, works to identify a "filmmaking practice, a cinematic tradition, and mode of audience reception" that is continually evolving and is without clear boundaries |
