I'm going to be so obvious here with the Muscle Museum chorus, but I've always adored that song, it was the song that got me into Muse so it has a special place in my heart.
Butterflies and Hurricanes too, I heard that song the first time when I was majorly down and it just leapt out at me lyrically and when ever I feel I need a boost I'll listen to it.
What lyrics do you adore and why? do they have a meaning for you, or is it 'just because I do'

The Muscle Museum chorus is definitely one of mine too, but I would have to say that Fury and Easily both do it for me...
"Let your inhibitions go,
Make every touch electrical,
When you're feeling beautiful
Will you remember me?"
Gorgeous. _________________ Keeper of Matthew's hands...

Darkshines.
"Passing by.. you light up my darkest skies.. you'll take only seconds.. to draw me in..."
Invincible obviously, it was "our song", Chad and I
the first few lines especially.. they really seemed to apply to us and our situation
and a personal favourite of mine, Butterflies and Hurricanes. The whole song is so uplifting... _________________

does anyone feel the same - everytime I want to check lyrics about Muse or some other band, I can't "read" them. I have to sing them in my head lol _________________

Hysteria - "to be endlessly cold within and dreaming i'm alive"
"i'm not breaking down, i'm breaking out"
Muscle Museum - "can you see that i am needing, begging for so much more than you could ever give"
Stockholm Syndrome - "this is the last time i'll abandon you"
"And we'll fly and we'll fall and we'll burn, no one will recall no one will recall"
"And we'll love and we'll hate and we'll die, All to no avail all to no avail"
basically i love all the lyrics to SS
Citizen Erased -" "erase all the memories they'll only bring us pain" _________________

It's no secret that I think lyrics to be the weak spot of Muse. Still, I think Matthew keeps progressing as a writer and some pieces are utterly wonderful.
Amazing imagery and if I'm not seeing too much into it, clever thought: "I'm falling down/now the world is upside down/I'm heading straight for the clouds".
One line that I always give as an example of fine Muse songwriting: "You could be my unintended/choice to live my life extended".
Another good one: "Hide from your family/they won't know you now/for all the holes in our soul host no thrills"
"Our wrongs remain unrectified/and our souls won't be exhumed"
I'm a bit lazy to go through all the songs, but I do think brilliant songwriting is too rare in Muse music. But doesn't matter, they have lyrics that are emotional and in a combination with perfect use of instruments and Matt's stunning vocals make you implode or explode a thousand times.
The song that I think is the best lyrically is Megalomania.[/i] _________________ My favourite album by The Muses is Black Revelations and Hole. |
