I figured I'd start a debate about global warming and what you think of it.

My personal views start with 'Global warming by humans is a lie'.

It was invented as a way to tax us more so the greedy governments can have even more money from us.

Since planet Earth was born in the Big Bang, it's gone with heating up and cooling down phases for its millions of years, this has been proven, the earth has been MUCH hotter than it is today. It's gone with transactions from ice ages to hot periods... There is scientific evidence to prove this.

Evidence that global warming by humans is happening is very minimal, however the evidence that it's a farce and a lie is stacking up greatly.

For instance,
-Did you know the earth has actually cooled down in the last 2 years?
-Did you know that in the last 2 years there's been fewer 'sun spots' from the sun
-This means that the earth's temperature is determined by solar activity from the sun (a proven fact)
-Did you know less than 2000 scientists believe in global warming by humans - And very very few of them (less than 10) have PhD's in climate related specialities.
-Did you know that Volcanos and the sea(!!) let out thousands of times more 'greenhouse gasses' than humans do

Also a quote from a facebook group I joined last week:

Quote:
WorldNetDaily: 31,000 scientists reject 'global warming'
More than 31,000 scientists including more than 9,000 PhD's in fields such as atmospheric science, climatology, earth science, environment & dozens of other specialties - have signed a petition rejecting"global warming", the assumption that the human production of greenhouse gasses is damaging Earth's atmosphere.

"There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's climate." the petition states " Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produces many beneficial effects upon the natural plant & animal environment of the Earth."

And also on an oil related matter...

Yes we are running out of it (or are we - is this just another clever government trick?).

But doesn't it seem strange that we have all this technology, I mean the way computers work is mind boggling (and this is coming from a fully qualified IT Technician!). Yet we still don't have a widespread alternative to oil.

It's obvious that we do, I mean think about it, how hard can it be to make a car run off something not-oil based. Maybe not conventional engines, but modified 'new' styles of engines could probably run off water with some special stuff in it.

BUT We have Hydrogen powered cars... why aren't they in use worldwide if the governments are so worried about global warming by humans and oil running out... Why are they still using oil when there's zero emission alternatives. Basicly because they know global warming by humans doesn't exist... if they were so worried about it then everybody who drives would be in hydrogen or electric cars by now.

It's down to the money again.  If everybody used Hydrogen power for their cars then the governments would be out of pocket in a big way, because they can't tax us as much for 'polluting cars that cause global warming'.

I know it's lengthy, but it's something I feel very strongly about... I also apologise if some of it doesn't make sense... it is friday after all.

I know where you are coming from and do agree about the government.  People have been doing stuff the same way for years and years and years and years ago noone had heard of global warming.

Ha yes if we all had Hydrogen cars - I would imagine the government would find some way of taxing us on water vapour or summat so they dont lose out.

One thing I do know, is that volcanos do NOT produce more gasses than humans, I heard this from a vulcanologist on the Naked Scientists a few weeks ago.
From what I have read, I agree with your points about the earths history of cooling and warming and having been much hotter than now. What I have read/heard is that it is happening now at a much faster rate than ever before, than would be expected.
I have also heard that there is a global cooling.

The way I see it, what does it cost to be better to the environment on a personal level? Not very much.

There were electric cars mass produced in the US somehow they all got destroyed, there was a docu made about it. Apparently it had something to do with the "oil men" who control the world.

Basically I have heard lots of different things and I don't know what to believe. Everyone has facts and figures and says the other guys are wrong, so it is confusing.

Yeah, i pretty much agree with you chris...
I've heard of the natural cooling down and heating up phases as well...
So yeah, i although i think a small percentage of it is down to humans, i think i is mostly just a big myth made up by some government to try and get more money off us...

oh... the figure for the amount that humans add to global warming is 0.02% (or somewhere in that region). The bloody cows are worse than we are!! Tax them!!

Our rubbish trucks run on methane gas they get from their own refuse waste dept!!
Some of our buses run on hydrogen, we have electric points for you to plug in your electric car(although I don't think I have seen any) downtown.

oooooh I saw a guy on a Segway!!! I really want one of them

(ssssh don't mention the alluminium smelters taking over Iceland)

I have further proof!!

Yesterday (JULY the 7th) it got to a highest temperature of 13C here! And only 14C in Newcastle city centre!

Global warming my arse!

G8 aims to halve greenhouse gases

What are they going to do? Put giant corks in all of the volcanos, exterminate cows and drain the sea?

It has failure written all over it due to the fact greenhouse gasses have more to do with those 3 things than it has to do with humans.

Have you noticed that all of the 'smoggy' countries/cities (minus Middlesbourgh) all near natrual disaster zones (volcanos and earthquakes) or the sea?

Well Iceland is a country full of volcanos and earthquakes and we have no smog. Except on the days when the stupid drivers don't take off their winter tires and we get lots of asphalt in the air idiots.
The smog in China is hugely caused from coal burning and industry and vehicles, I mean there are  millions of people living there.

buuuuuuuuuuuut, global warmin IS just a scam by the govt to get more tax monies

and anyway, in hte unlikely event that global warmin does actually exist, its gonna be canceled out by nuclear winter...

The whole G8 thing is a load of shit...

It's just a placed for a load of jumped up power crazy leaders to make it seem to the world like Global warming actually exists, so that they can carry on screwing us for every single penny we have...
