Hello again!

Here's the interview with Muse following their Reading performance.

NME: So Muse, how was it for you?
Matt Bellamy (vocals): "It was one of those rare gigs where every moment was up. I really means a lot to us, as we used to go to this festival when we were kids. We always had this thing where I'd say to Dom [Howard, drums], 'have we made it now?' and he'd say, 'Nah, not until we've headlined Reading.'"
DH: "So have we made it?"
MB: "Yeah, I think so!"

We all speculated about whether you'd do 'Knights of Cydonia' first or last. Why did you go with it as the opener?
DH: "It's definately a fine line really, but it seems so extreme to play that song first, because it's an obvious ending with that riff."
MB: "It was either going to be that or 'Take a Bow', but thats more of a theatrical intro. It's better for an indoor gig."

How did you prepare for Reading? Any nerves?
Chris Wolstenholme (bass): "Getting my face burnt by the flames at the end! I enjoyed it in a weird way. A blowtorch in the face."
MB: "For me it was 'Knights of Cydonia', after the solo singing bit and the build-up to when it kicks in. I knew then it was going to be a good gig."

So what are you doing now?
MB: "Hit the booze! We've got a huge family contingent down here, so we're going to play some games with the kids."

I also spotted NME's top 10 festival anthems on Reading and Leeds 2006. Muse came in at number 1 with Knights of Cydonia, describing it as, "The greatest opening sci-fi, prog-rock epic Readings ever heard."

... can't say they're wrong really!!
