From NME online:
"Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has revealed his plans for the band’s future.
The star explained that he’d like their next album to feature more prog influences as well as a dancier feel.
Talking to NME, the singer and guitarist said: "I think on the next album I’d like to do at least one 15-minute space-rock solo."
He added: "Apart from that, ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ (2006 UK Top Five single) opened up a new area for us of dancing, grooving, rhythm section-dominated songs. I’d love to do more stuff like that really."
Read more about Muse’s future plans, including their new focus on singles and their forthcoming headlining V Festival performance, in this week’s NME, out in all good newsagents now.é
i also heard on the French radio this morning that Muse would put out singles for vote on the Internet, and the songs that got the more votes would be included on the next album.
What do you think?

I think they are just throwing 'out there' idea's about, it gives people things to think about and a good article for print.
I'm sure we'll see another album on next release.
..and if it does turn out to be a 20 minute symphony or just singles, I'm sure it will work, Muse would make it work. _________________

To be honest, it doesn't really matter what format they release them as, be it a load of singles, or just one album, as long as they keep producing the same quality of music they have been since they came around, it does'nt matter does it? I know i'll still buy it, and i'm pretty sure that there aren't gonna be many people who won't just 'cause of the way its been put out. And if there are people who do, they obviously aren't very big muse fans are they? so it doesn't matter.

yeah, but here in the U.S.[darn U.S. pople tend to not care about singles, more about albums to get the whole deal. especially if it has b-sides, cause singles and b sides are hard to get her in america
except for lime and frost wire _________________ 'Registered Pieaholic'

well maybe it would be better for them to release it as a whole album in america wouldn't it? but would you not buy their music just cause its in a single instead of an album? I think they are just experimenting on ways to release their music to the world....to be honest, i don't mind how they release it, it doesn't really matter that much, its the quality of the music that matters.

yeah, i get what you mean, i prefer the album format just cause it means im listening to loads of the songs instead of just 2 or 3, and its easier to store in my music collection, but i'd still buy their music however they release it, cause they are just an amazing band

we all know nothing realy but this[more wikipedia, this time real lol
Future plans
After a number of rumours about Muse playing Reading and Leeds Festivals circulated around Wikipedia as well as other rumour websites, Dominic Howard said to NME "we will not be playing the Leeds and Reading festivals, and we believe this rumour to have been started by an 'anti-fan' hoping to get Muse fans' hopes up. Some people need to grow up. We apologise for any inconvenience, but we will be indeed playing more shows over the summer so stay tuned."
In an interview given in May 2007 to Kerrang!, Muse stated that work on a new album and new songs, some more in line with electronic or "dance music" and others more with classical or symphonic music had begun. The band are also thinking of hiring an orchestra for some of the tracks. They also revealed that the next album should be self-produced, in order to have more freedom. In an interview in a January 2008 edition of NME, Matt Bellamy stated that he is not sure of what format the new songs are going to take, stating, "it may just be albums, but it may be a stream of singles, or it may just be one 50-minute symphony, do you know what I mean? Who knows?" The new songs will be released sometime in 2009. Bellamy also said in an NME interview that he wanted to do a "15 minute space-rock guitar solo". [37]
In October 2007 interview with the Daily Star, Dominic Howard continued the idea of more electronic music, saying “We think it might have quite an electronic feel. Normally we need total time out from touring to sit down and reflect but this time round it feels different. We’re buzzing at the moment.” [67]
In May 2008 interview with BBC Music6, Dominic Howard confirmed that they are recording the new album. “About a week ago we just started on some new stuff and actually started playing some new tracks and writing some new songs. So we are just getting the ball rolling again,” he told BBC 6Music. “We’ve been off the kind of creative period for so long, being on tour, so once you get back together - you have to start thinking that kind of way. You have to kind of push that ball and get it rolling. And we did it and it sounded great so we got a few tracks together and it’s coming along so that’s what we’re doing right now.”
Asked what the new album would sound like, Howard said that it was too early to ascertain a specific sound.
“You get a whole bunch of ideas in the can and it’s not until later on that you actually decide what they should sound like and where they should go really,” he said, before adding that “it’s really exciting times.” _________________ 'Registered Pieaholic'
