right, here is my diary, in true rambling and long winded fashion as is normal for myself!

The train journey is uneventful, but the 6.29 departure time is rather unkind. It all gets exciting when my daughter screams 'WEMBLEEEEEEEEY' towards the end of the journey as you can see the stadium arch quite a way out of London. Several people have us as gothis/emo footie fans, the others think we're evil for waking them up.

14 arguments (or thereabouts) later (for pointing to my daughter we're out we're not in a quiet Derbyshire town anymore, we're in London and there's a lot more traffic than we're used to) we walk all of 500m from St Pancras to Kings Cross and sucessfully find our way to Wembley. After all my fretting, metropolitan line, 5 stops along.

We walk all the way round the stadium just taking it all in and trying to find the hotel. We find the hotel (at the back of the stadium, of course) and decide to have an 'on site' Cydonia staff meeting. Hannah is my first victim and I find her queuing for the golden circle with Rosie (of Orange Pootle fame). We chat and true to form my daughter is all excitable and won't shut up (Kids, eh?) After being embarrased by my own offspring we head off to check into the hotel.

I get there expecting to pay £47 as per the telephone discussion three weeks ago. £105 ends up going on my credit card.... event rates you see. He gets a bit of an earful from me as they should have told me the right price, but I paid it.

We head off to find Sarah, who is here with her OH. We have a natter and watch all sorts of planes go to the Trooping of the Colour and get caught in some top thunder claps, lots of rain and lightning going horizontaly across the horizon. I hit on the top idea of letting my daughter go to the merch stall and get her out the way for 5 minutes, until she phones me with a 'what shall I buy, can I have more money, mum' dilemma. I bail her out and we go and queue at the turnstiles. They put lots of tables out behind the doors and its obvious we're going to get searched. We run back to the hotel (only 5 minutes away) and dump what we don't need, get what we do in our pockets and the camera goes in the bra. Sure enough, I get frisked, but my stash is undetected. We get in and everybody has cameras!

Sarah is at the barrier and blows us a kiss from her rather good vantage point (hooray for pink brollies) Hannah is at the barrier too but I didn't find out where.

We have torrential rain and the stage gets flooded. The crowd get soaked, but we're in seating *smug*. We're level 5 but we are close to the stage and can see what's going on behind which is well cool.

R and G come on and they're really good! We get a flamenco version of Enter Sandman.

Dirty Pretty Things suffer a bad sound mix which is gutting and I'd love to see some clips on youtube incase it was acoustics, but R and G were fine.

We go and pay £15 for 2 colas and 2 burgers and chips. A bag of crisps is a quid!

The Streets are on, and you know what, I like them. We saw them at Leeds last year and they know how to get the crowd going. We have the biggest mexican wave I've ever seen going. I have an 'in chair' boogie to 'Fit But You Know It'.

The rain has meant the stage is soaked, and before Muse come on there are roadies sweeping water off the stage and going round with towels! As a result Muse are late coming on but we see them waiting!

They rise in a plume of smoke and ticker tape in the middle of the floor and walk down the runway to the stage.

Matt straps on his guitar and in keeping with the set design plays the tune from Close Encounters of the Third Kind before launching into Knights Of Cydonia.

We're off! We sing, we jump, we dance, we clap, all during the first song!

The bass intro to Hysteria makes my tummy vibrate!

Has Matt and Dom spoken this much in a gig? I don't think I can recall Matt talking this much! Dom (a vision in amazing green trousers) is rather chatty too!

I raise the roof during Butterflies and Hurricanes (I love that song) and then I hear the drum beat 'boom boom pause boom boom pause' I grab my phone and call Carroll as, yes it is, its Citizen Erased! Sarah said it was the one song she'd never seen live and there you go! I record the guitar solo bit for memory.

Carroll gets another phone call during Sunburn. We sing along to Starlinght, Invincible, TIRO sends my daughter off on a mini mosh.

New born is a dream, Matt plays the piano intro and once again comes to the front of the stage to tease us before launching into THAT guitar riff.

I nearly drop my phone in excitement when Unintended starts, Carroll gets treated to it and as I say 'It was beautiful'

During Blackout two acrobats suspended on ballons come out and perform over the crowd. Just perfect.

Plug in Baby comes on and we watch it, sad as its the last song for us. They're running late and we have to go and find the OH who is waiting outside for the camera and to give me the car keys before he went to Heathrow airport. We get outside, say hello and then I spin round to look at the stadium roof.

Its MICRO CUTS AND I'M MISSING IT. I give the OH a serious bit of verbal. My daughter finds my strop towards Dad funny, but he doesn't 'get it'. ITS MICRO CUTS, M I C R O C U T S.

We wander round to say good bye at the front of the stadium and I miss Stockholm Syndrome and Take A Bow. He gets no points and I demand a decent present from America as compensation.

We go back to the hotel and have a crap night due to horrible beds and the OH giving me half hourly progress reports: 'I'm at Heathrow now', 'I'm in duty free now', 'I've just checked in now', 'I'm in a cafe now.' Thankfully he gets bored and stops phoning about 5am. I don't get to use my 'please don't phone me to tell me you've just been for a piss' line.

I have, oooooh 2 hours sleep and then a phone call to say he's going through to board the plane. I get another hours sleep and then my daughter wakes up and eats crisps for breakfast.

We check out the hotel and hang round to meet my old MCR buddies Lucy and Tina who are here for the Sunday gig. We chat and I wish I was staying.

We have to drag ourselves on the train knowing that we're going to miss MCR and Muse. We both watch the stadium for as long as we can and my daughter waves goodbye to it from the tube.

How can I sum up the weekend? I can't. It was everything I hoped for and more, much more. I would be a cliche to say it was the best gig ever, but it WAS. It was Wembley, it was a long waited for girlie weekend, a long waited for Christmas present, it was meeting wonderful people and a band called MUSE.

I'm listening to B&H now and I just can't imagine not crying to it live!

I am so happy you had an amazing time with your daughter, I'm sure it is something she will cherish for a long time and you of course!!!

I adore B and H so much that it does make me go wobbly when I hear it, and I did get a bit wobbly on Saturday, but the song does have personal significance for me, and is my 'pick me up' song.

Citizen Erased is the same for wobblyness, I've been lucky enough to have seen it 3 times live and the awesomness of the song just takes your breath away.

There was a couple in front of us and 'Starlight' was obviously 'their song' and they just went all romantic and held each other and sang along.

I keep remembering things!

Ohhh, Ali, reading that gave me such a gorgeous flashback!

Rosie and I got to Wembley at about 10.30 (after planning to get there an hour earlier) and were randomly moved from our gate (M) to B. We were really annoyed because that put us right at the back of their already long queue. It was okay though, we got good places in the end. Then I got a text from Ali saying that she was around and we got attacked by her and Ali jr. Spoons were waved and pictures taken.

Well, when Rosie and I got inside the stadium (after 5 hours of very wet queueing) we made a mad dash for the barrier and got tip-top positions. At this point, the heavens opened. Having chucked our umbrella earlier on (the sign said they weren't allowed inside for some reason!) we were absolutely drenched, and the guy to the left of us was melting blue as he had recently sprayed his hair. This was less than pleasant. Anyway.

A while passed while standing in the rain and finally Rodrigo and Gabriela came on! Now they were damn good. I like my Spanish guitar. Then we stood, very bored, through the Dirty Pretty Things, who you could just tell hadn't been Muse's first choice... pretty bloomin' awful. Finally the Streets come on and everyone starts jumping! We're getting there, and the weather is better! At this point, Rosie is really starting to have fun (this was her first real gig!). We see various inflatable dinosaurs jumping around on the other side of the aisle, occasionally wearing scarves and think: ahh, Tashie!

Then the security guards did something EVIL.

One of them showed us all the entire setlist. With all the effects listed on it (sparks, CO2, balloons, heliospheres, fire etc). I didn't have the surprise of the opener or the appearance of Unintended at all, which I was sooo sad about!

I was getting more and more excited waiting for Muse to come on and it got to the point when they were 15 minutes late when I would have done something drastic... and then they appeared in a massive explosion of CO2 and tickertape, then marched right down the middle accompanied by about 12 random men in biohazard suits. Matt was greeted by his robotic guitar stand and I felt like I was in a parallel universe. I cried instantly as he walked past. The gig started and it was BRILLIANT.

By the end I was so completely drained (both physically and emotionally) that I actually fell over backwards. Luckily the random standing behind me stopped me falling right to the ground!

Had parallel universe syndrome again coming out of the stadium as there were about 20 police on horseback (after a Muse gig!) waiting outside to stop the crowds. It was mental. According to my Mum (who also went, but didn't want to queue up really early, haha) I looked at this point as though I were on heroin... not sure what to think of that!

Got back to Romford at 2am... crashed out immediately and dreamt of Muse until I woke up for another day!

Ali jr, I like that!

she is a 'mini me' to the extent it scares me. I hope she wasn't too daft for you, but she gets excited you know, it was her 3rd Muse gig!

OK got to Wembleh at 10.30ish and got straight in the queue at gate B...lots of speculation as to whether we were going to make it into the 'golden circle'...

got comfy, unpacked the picnic but was far too excited to eat anything except a cracker and some cheese

got chatting to some lovely people in the queue and adopted a lad called Zak (he was worried they were not going to let him in as he was under 16)
him and his friend were lovely and I gave them a Mars muffin to share from our picnic that ended up in the bin, this was their first Muse gig and I assured them that they would be blown away.

texted Ali around lunchtime and her and her lovely daughter wandered over to meet us in the queue, was just saying to my OH that I was going to have to start shouting 'Ali' at random strangers when I spotted her and her daughter instantly, was lovely to meet them both and had a quick chat with the lovely Carroll on Ali's mobile too :-)

OH went and bought us both a t shirt which we put on over the Muse shirts we were already wearing!!

gates opened and we flooded in to the stadium, my bag was glanced in but was relieved to not have a proper searching...had everything so well packed in I probably would not have got it all back in again...

so then we speed walked out onto the pitch with security yelling DONT RUN!!! was quite impressed with the marching music they played for us!!

got straight down to the 'golden circle' on the left hand side of the stage  along with Zak and his friend, then the heavens opened...was half under the pink brolly but ended up even wetter as the rain poured off the brolly and down my back...

Rodrigo and Gabriela were AMAZING, loved them and thought they were a fab support...the atmosphere was amazing as the stadium began to fill up...it started getting somewhat cramped in the circle as the Dirty Pretty things came on and being soaking wet I was beginning to get quite uncomfortable...I wasnt impressed by DPTs at all and just stood trying to save my energy as a group of people behind us was going nuts to them...crowd was starting to surge all over the place and I was having problems staying on my feet...the fact that the floor was very wet and slippery didnt help either...but I was determined to stay where I was...

The Streets came on to a fair bit of booing which really pissed my OH off...I wasnt particularly looking forward to seeing them but have to say they really got the crowd going and I loved their set but staying on my feet was becoming increasingly more difficult as people were obviously trying to get closer to the front and the crowd were surging all over the place...OH disappeared when The Streets had finished and I was beginning to feel a bit panicky :|

The crushing got too much for me when Muse finally came on...managed to stick it out in my spot for KoC but when breathing became difficult I had to move or I think I would have passed out or puked...thankfully I think the people in the crowd could see I was struggling and made a path for me to exit and join my OH at the edge of the pit...

so glad I moved, OK so I wasnt as close but I actually had a better view and even better I had space to move and leap around like a loony...

The highlight for me was definitely Citizen Erased, as Ali said its one I hadnt seen live before and one of my faves...videoed the intro and then gave up recording as I just wanted to enjoy it

the 2 hours Muse played for ended all too quickly but greedy guts me was very happy I was returning the next day to see them do it all over again

Managed to completely lose my OH at the end of the gig but spotted Zak and his friend while wandering outside in search of OH, as I had promised them earlier in the day they were blown away from the sheer awesomeness of the Muse and twas lovely to wish them well in their exams and the future :-)

found OH and we set off for Wembley Park station along with thousands of other gig goers filling Wembley Way from stadium to station...the mexican waves going from front to back of the queue were highly entertaining

(Hannah - were you in this queue??...am sure I may have spotted you ahead of us if you were)

made it back to our camper van in one piece very exhausted and looking forward to repeating the experience the next day all over again

*pics will follow as soon as online at home again*

I was in that queue! I can't believe it, we must have been so close to each other in the crowd and in that queue and we didn't see each other!

I had an amazing time at Wembley but the only thing to spoil it was the noob in front of me. I'm all for people enjoying themselves and having a good time but i was rhe only one in my block who had some idiot jumping up from the first support. Wouldn't have been so bad but no one else was standing and I felt bad for the people behind me. We ended up moving so we could stand, although 10mins later everyone else did the same. Even so, couldn't cope with that girl in front of me haha.

On another note. During black out, I was staring at the screens so intently, i didn't notice the balloons haha. Well, not until my bf pointed them out to me.
