I saw this film last night with a big group of friends and it was... strange. It's about 6 Scottish women who come to the Appalachian Mountains and go spelunking in a cave on the Chattooga River (This is really, really weird because I live in Chattooga County and the Chattooga River is about... 15 miles from my house). Anyways, they go spelunking in the cave and... well there's problems.
Let me just say this movie is the kind that is shocking where things jump out and frighten you, but it's not something that will bother you at night. It is also probably the bloodiest film I've ever seen. So if you've a weak stomach then you might want to stray away from this.
Otherwise, if you're looking for a good, bloody, frightening and freaky film then this one is okay.

| I thought it was ok, not bad. Funnily enough, the part that made me jump 10 foot into the air was when the main character dreamt about that pole smashing through the window!  |

From an online review:
'Once lost inside the cave -- and they're lost big-time -- violence manifests itself in the form of blind, milky-skinned, male predators who attack them out of nowhere with bone-crunching zeal. Are they inbred mutants or the longtime grudges among the women made flesh?'
Blimey, I didn't think of that at all...what do you think about this angle? |

only just spotted this thread...
my OH bought this on DVD a while back when it first came out- he loves anything gory...its directed by the guy who directed Dog Soldiers which is his favourite film (I love it too - very funny film and didnt find it too scary - also has the bonus of Sean Pertwee, whos a bit yum) same guy also directed 28 Days later I believe
anyway OH watched it - with me at the computer with my back firmly turned to the tv and my fingers in my ears (constantly saying 'can you turn it down a bit, its scaring me') - no word of a lie, the very next day he went to the pub after work and spotted one of the girls in the film (who met a particularly nasty end)...after plucking up the courage he went over and offered her a drink...
here comes the hilarious part... he asked her if she would sign his dvd if he drove home and got it
she agreed so he drove home - 3 miles - not over the limit and not breaking the speed limit - honest  - drove back -3 more miles...to the pub with dvd and got her to autograph it
how very ridiculously coincidental
oh and we went to the caves at cheddar gorge a few weeks later and silly OH thought it was highly amusing to make scary mutant monster noises when creeping up behind me |
