Article in The Sun - 'Rocker's End Of Word Fear'

I'VE heard of rock stars doing crazy things but this takes the biscuit.
MATT BELLAMY from MUSE became so convinced the world was about to end that he went on a panic-buying spree, stocking up on baked beans and arming himself with an AXE.

The frontman researched conspiracy theories for new album The Resistance - and then started believing them.

He ended up thinking the UK could run out of food within a fortnight so went into survivalist mode.

Matt drove to his local food store and bought all 50 tins of beans. Then he went to a DIY store to get an axe.

The rocker said: "I read somewhere a seven-day blockade and the UK would run out of oil.

"Another seven days and we'd run out of food. That's why I bought the beans. The axe would chop firewood."

Matt's girlfriend, GAIA POLLONI, a psychologist, tried to calm him down. But he was adamant.

Matt said: "She's Italian. They've seen it all there. The Roman Empire came and went. She's more laid back about history and politics.

"But to me it all feels so tenuous sometimes, especially in the UK. We are an island and are vulnerable."

The Resistance, out on September 14, is all about such strange things.

Opening track Uprising looks at global civil unrest.

Wacky

Exogensis is about the idea we started life on another planet and then came here, while United States Of Eurasia deals with the rise of a fictional superpower.

It all sounds wacky races to me.

Talking to Q magazine, out next month, Matt said: "I've been through periods where I've felt quite paranoid.

"But I also believe in the power of people to change things. There is a romance to fighting back against malevolent interests. The last album was dark and angry. This one is all about resisting the corporate-ocracy."

I look forward to the album ... even if Matt has gone a bit mad.

Can we really believe anything published in the Sun ? Lol
SuperGinge

No. They sensationalise everything, especially celebrity 'stories' to make them out to be worse than they are.
I wouldn't even call them a reputable newspaper, as they focus alot on trashy celebrity stories.

I agree with you mostly but they took this from Q magazine (which I now have) but the story in Q is much much bigger and this is a bit of an aside. I'll see if I can find a link to it somewhere... not typing out 8 pages of stuff!
