I must say I'm not a great fan of this colour... it's like pink and beige mixed together... Both of them aren't terribly good colours.

There is a newer version of this forum, this is version 2, and version 3 is out and it looks as though I MIGHT be able to transfer it, but it'd take 2 days?

I want to see some version 3 forums to see what the benefits are. I've looked at the technical bits, and everything would tranfer over, post counts, members, posts,the lot.

As for the bits down the side, they have to be input on every template, and are a massive ball ache to do, but I like them. There are loads of options to choose from.

What we do lack is 'tags' so we come up on search engines, possibly a domain, and some art work

If Cydonia got more successful I'd definitely go advert free. There are also some webpage facilities and I'd ideally like a home page for news, and then a link to the forum.

I've done bits and pieces with these kinds of forums before - although v-bulletin is more my thing, I'm sure I can remind my way around phpBB if I have to again. If you need a hand give me a yell.

I have a Vbulletin License currently being unused but I've seen Ali that you would need to give these free forum people £60 just for the forum back up to take to 'doing it yourself' which is a total con!

What I want is Cydonia to be on search engines, and be a bit more graphically swish, through banners, a decent logo and perhaps this front page I think I can design - a bit like Uno uses, hope you don't mind, Tash

While I adore the comfiness we all have with it being a small forum, I'd like to see us get a bit more successful.

If Chris and Sunburn (he has a name) have any ideas then I'd gladly take them on board.

My main hang up is how to get us on search engines.

I personally don't mind the set up we use, I find the forum straight forward and self explanatory, there is an option to design my very own template, but we need something to get people interested.

I want us to all be happy, because if we can pull it together, I want Chris, Hannah and Sunburn to be on staff, and then move forward and take it from there.

Muselive is looking rather la-vely lately, i don't go on there often enough lol
It would be really good if this forum got more well known, i mean, i like it being a small forum as well, cause pretty much everyone (well the regular posters) knows everyone else, but it would be really good if it became more popular

I want Cydonia to be a 'collective', I don't want to go and do this and that and eliminate people. I want us to be nice, look nice and have a few more people posting. We'll never be up there with some of the Muse sites, but I'd like to be just a bit more well known.

Well if I can do anything to help give me a shout. I have photoshop on my PC at home and at work so if you want some images doing up I can try and sort them out (although image manipulation isn't my strong point - creating game textures is). If you have any basic logo design ideas/button design ideas let me know and I'll see what I can do. I've always wanted to get into photoshop a bit more than just doing skins/textures for games so this seems like a good chance to do that if requested.

Ali if you want to use my VB license, feel free and I can convert it over on a new domain (maybe cydoniaforum.com or similar).

While I think phpBB3 is awesome and my favourite forum script, VB has much more that could offer this forum. Social groups, facebook connect (login via facebook user and pass and send forum feeds to facebook account) and it's the forum they use over at muse.mu.

Though, there is a £60 charge to get a back up of your forum here to convert which is what the people that host this forum charge, unless of course there is currently a SQL back up option in admin panel here?

I would be quite happy to host, get a domain and use VB for here cause I think the forum has a good little community that would grow using those methods.

Though, I would need an answer re the VB soon, as I could use it elsewhere if it's not needed.

Well I kinda like this colour to be honest, it's got a bloody-ish feel to it that's pretty cool.
And it goes well with the top banner.

I'd ask my guy to come up with more banners (if you remember Ali, one of my bro's best friends did that top one and a couple more back in the time), but he's a freelancer now and has tons of work, so I'd feel bad asking him for yet another freebie
