Matt talking about HAARP in nme.
Originally, Muse had intended to use the same stage show for the current European tour as they had for their triumphant Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festival headline shows. Six weeks before the tour, however, set designers were presented with a new prototype: a series of pylons sending messages to a massive ‘fully loaded satellite’ which rises up to reveal drummer Dominic Howard playing inside. The design, Matt explains, is based on the American government’s High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Programme in Alaska – a million experiment that an assortment of critics (environmentalists, Native Americans and Alaskan citizens), believe could be used by the military for everything from weather control to mind control.
Matt: “No-one really knows what it is but modern warfare and modern weapons have moved into this next stage. There’s a big battle going on as to who’ll control the weather.”
I see. And how much hard fact do you have to support this theory?
Matt: (Laughs) “Not much! Bt it’s out there if you want to find it. This HAARP thing, the government are saying it’s for communications with submarines and their own spacecraft, but scientists have said that they’re really trying to tap into the ionosphere, where a lot of weather stuff takes place. Interfere with that and you can manipulate the weather.”
So there you go guys. Straight from the horses mouth

I'm just starting my new art project about HAARP... it's all very cool. Not sure what I'm going to do properly yet.

HAARP really scares me, I've got some decent knowledge of Tesla, and he thought it was possible to do stuff with the brain, since our brain waves are on specific frequencies, they CAN be controlled.
And tesla was the one who invented AC power...

"control ionospheric processes" thats a quote off wikipedia...which is quite scary, cause like matt said, if they interfere with that, they can control the weather...

i put who? cause i dont get it...
its a bunch of cool sounding words though
lol at my 13 yr old brain.

lol
basically if this programme get control ionosperic processes (which is where the weather and stuff is) they can control weather patterns and stuff like that...
and some people think this whole haarp programme could be used as a weapon as well :S

Maybe this is the next step toward a new world order, one government controlling everything, even the weather...

that would be cool, but at the same it would disrupt animal habitats, and completledly change our ecosystem and screw up life.. and we might send bad weathers to our enimeies..yup its bad..
screw up life=bad!

I thinks its scary cause if they can control the weather, they could destroy whole ecosystems just by making it have the wrong type of weather for that area...If they want to control the weather, what will they stop at? The weather is a naturally occuring thing, therefore, something we shouldn't interfere with...

yeah, good point.
you mess with the bull, u get the horns.
u screw with nature, the whole world*pardon my cursing, i watch a lot of TV now*
u screw with nature, the whole world get fudged up.

Exactly, specific habitats need certain weather to thrive, without that weather they wouldn't be able to cope...and its America controlling this experiment...they shouldn't be given that sort of power....seeing as George Bush himself claims he is "above the law"...
