Last fm helpI'm a bit worried!
Today, I put three compilation CD's from disc onto my lap top. Windows Media player has tagged them as being proper full CD's from an artist named on the CD.
Its happened on these compilation CD's
1 - Soundcheck no 110 from Rocksound magazine.
One featured artist is MSI - track number 5. As soon as I put the CD in it came up with MSI's 'If' CD. It should feature tracks by Story of The Year, 36 Crazyfists aswell as MSI.
2 - Roadrunner Records - Class of 08.
Can't remember which magazine it was from but its catalogue number is RRRSCD08.
1st artist listed is Kids In Glass Houses. Put the CD in and Windows Media Player has tagged it as the 'Smart Casual' CD which I do not own. I was expecting to see a list of artists including Madina Lake, Within Temptation and others!
3 - Kerrang's 'Under The Influence' CD featuring songs that influenced My Chemical Romance.
1st artist is Taking Back Sunday. Put the disc in and windows Media Player has tagged the entire track listing as being that of the 'Louder Now' CD which I have never bought. I was expecting to see a track listing including Alkaline Trio and Thursday!
I was logged into lastfm at the time, but have sucessfully put other compilation CD's on my laptop while being logged into lastfm and nothing bananas has happened.
I promise you I have not downloaded anything illegal, these are genuine complilation CD's bought of genuine magazines.
As soon as Windows Media player has started its gone and tagged them as being proper CD's? I've put the CD's to one side in case of any problems.
Any one got any suggestion as to what has happened?
edit - I've switched my laptop off, back on again and not logged onto lastfm. I've put all 3 CD's back in and its STILL saying they are full KIGH, TBS and MSI CD's.
I already own 'IF' by MSI - paid for, LEGALLY.

hmm the only thing I can think of, is that maybe it is picking up on the first artist of each cd and just calling them the album of the name of that band!
It seems rather odd. I don't use windows so I don't know how to help 
In itunes you can just rename them all yourself, which doesn't take too long as you can highlight all the names and just change them together.
Can you do something like that?

Aaahhh, so mine isn't the only one who did that...
I got Muse - The supermassive selection and when i put it on the computer is just picks up one of the artists names on there...not sure why, i just changed it all manually, although whenever i'm on windows media it comes up it just says the one artists name...
The only reason i can think is that cause you can't buy them off internet, it doesn't pick up on all the different artists, it just chooses one and assumes there all from the same artist....stupid really :/
