Dissapointingly, Mariah has the greater vocal range - she can reach such highs that she can activate the control mechanism on her garage, apparently.
Less dissssapppointingly, her songs, decent as they are, are not as good as Matt's 
Even more disappointingly, I can never remember how to spell 'dissapointingly'...or possibly 'disappointingly'...doh.

While Mariah Carey does have a wider range, her 8 octaves are all horrible. Er... they're bad... she's bad. Good voice, but she can't choose what to sing very well.
