I'm so excited, I'm seeing Muse at the Eden Project with Alex tomorrow. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I will tell you all all about it when I get back and am still in my lovely Post-Muse-Trance. Is anyone else here going?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

That was absolutely the BEST gig I have ever been to. Including Earls Court and the private gig I saw them at. The atmosphere was amazing. It was really quite a small gig but they went all the way with their stage and the lights and screens and everything! I was right at the front on the barrier directly in front of Matt the whole way through, it was FANTASTIC. (I have to admit I did cry a few times during the gig).

They played Showbiz, New Born, Bliss, Space Dementia Outro, Plug In Baby, Feeling Good, Forced In, TIRO, Stockholm, Hysteria, Butterflies, Take A Bow, Starlight, SmBH, Map, Invincible and Knights. Not in that order, Knights was first and New Born was last before the encore. The encore was Stockholm then Take A Bow. Don't really remember where the others went! Oh, and for about a minute, they played 'A Pizza Hut'!

Matt was looking gorgeous as ever, but weirdly wearing jeans! Black ones yes, but still jeans! (If you aren't a Matt gazer then just ignore all these bits about him). Dom was looking nice too, all in black with his studded belt. I didn't look at Chris or Morgan that much. But they played very well!

Matt's black Manson has the coolest little bit on it at the bottom which is a white panel that changes colour periodically, and fast when you run a plectrum over it! How brilliant. When they played Feeling Good, Matt did that thing he does on the Hullabaloo video with the confetti stuff! It was great. When they played Knights, they had films of horses galloping on the screens! At random points in the gig there were also people dressed up in glow-in-the-dark skeleton suits dancing up on the banks to the sides of the crowd (or so Alex tells me, I was too far forward to see them and too preoccupied to notice much more than Matt).

I saw them doing the sound check earlier on in the day and Matt tested out his white piano... oh my goodness it was lovely. He just sat there and played beautiful piano piece after beautiful piano piece! I was in heaven. Everyone just lined the steps overlooking the stage and was just watching the souncheck.

If any of you have ever been to the Eden Project, you'll know that the shape of the land it is in is perfect for a gig. It's set in a huge dip like a bowl, and the sound is contained in it without echoing. Fabulous. Plus when the biomes are lit in the pretty colours, they really add to the light show that Muse put on.

As for the merchandise I bought... I went a little nuts. Spent £93. But I got lots of things! I got the girls' track top, the girls' Supermassive t-shirt and Black Holes t-shirt and the red Black Holes t-shirt for Alex. I also accidentally stole an extra girls' Black Holes t-shirt coz they gave me one too many! I gave it to my mum, who is over the moon.

I managed to not get hurt too much either! I got kicked in the head a few times, and I'm a bit bruised, but it was fairly gentle all in all. Quite a few people had to be taken out of the front because they were squashed though. I really wish I had brought a camera, but I just know that I would have lost it. Ahh well. Someone else is bound to have taken pics!

The gig ended at 10.40 but I got out at about 12 in the end after buying loads and finding my lift home. So I got back at just past 2pm and promptly died. Today I feel quite ill and I think I have flu from being drenched on the way to Eden - I had to walk 10 miles of the way there in the rain.

But still - absolutely bloody amazing.

Wow, that must have been wonderful for you, Han, because of your love for piano music!
I'm so pleased for you!
ScreenagerWes

Incredible, you surely had an amazing time and I'm so jealous that you got to see him play a piece on the piano, that's one of my most wanted things ever. I'm glad you had such a good time! Congrats on the good show!
UltimaCydonia

I went! It was AMAZING. Right at the front too He was amazing rehearsing on the Piano, they even did the classic tango jam Oh, and that wasn't 'A Pizza Hut', it was Burning Bridges by Status Quo.
Ham of the Problematique

Sounded like a Pizza Hut, it made me laugh. I haven't heard Burning Bridges but I'm going to have to now if it sounds that much like A Pizza Hut. What did you think of Hey Molly?
UltimaCydonia

Pretty good, very Arctic Monkeys-esque. You? Didn't think much of Nixon and the Burn mind..
Helen

Sounds like it was a good gig!
Ju-Ju!

ahhhhhhhhhhhh so amazing! SHOWBIZ THEY BROUGHT IT BACK AND ALL TEH OTHER AMAZING SONGS!!

hopes and prays for it to be there in november...
Ham of the Problematique

No, Nixon and the Burn weren't that great. Did your ears explode in a good way at the end of the build up when they played Take A Bow? Mine did, it was so intense!
sarahbelle

Wow would have loved to have been there for the soundcheck, but yes the gig was amazing, my ears exploded, I had shivers down my spine and butterflies + hurricanes brought tears to my eyes.
Soo looking forward to seeing them again in Nov
Ham of the Problematique

Ohhh I wish I could! I couldn't afford to see them twice in one year
sarahbelle

I also cant afford it! Im a skint student...but very luckily have an overworked OH who felt guilty about the fact that he got to see Muse and Snow Patrol in the same week at Eden...result - he booked tickets and he will be working overtime to pay for those, the hotel and train tickets to Birmingham!
Ham of the Problematique

Well done. My OH couldn't pay for half a chocolate bar.

FUCK! Why did I miss that? Hehe, oh well.

Ultima, you would'nt happen to have red hair and work in Weatherspoons, would you?
Clunge

Ahhhhh...

It was just amazing. By far the best venue for a gig imaginable, not crappy confines of a indoor venue and no shite festival food and mud at an outdoor gig.

C'mon, pasty + cider before Muse? Best idea ever!

As for the gig, Hey Molly were in all honesty, not that good. I know they were a new band and had never done anything this big before but their music was so bland and similar to the current scene, I was bored stiff after two minutes.

Nixon And The Burn were better but still, nothing that's ever going to set the world alight.

Finally though, we managed to squeeze through the crowd towards rge from (me and my mate ended up about 9 rows back infront of Chris, the rest of our group were a bit further infront and a couple at the barrier).

They came on a tad late and hammered straight into Knights, where Matt did this amazing jig during the riff!

SMBH and Showbiz were brilliant, as were PIB, Newborn, Bliss, Stockholm Syndrome and Take A Bow.

They did play Feeling Goog, then Invincible, then Starlight in a row which wa s abit shite, my three worst Muse songs of all time in a row .

The rest made up for that though.

Knights Of Cydonia
Hysteria
Supermassive Black Hole
Showbiz
Map Of The Problematique
Forced In
Bliss (Extended)
Butterflies And Hurricanes
Feeling Good
Invincible
Starlight
Plug In Baby
Newborn

Time Is Running Out
