Muse Rumours

Kerrang-

Muse have just announced that they are going to be travelling the UK throughout November - December and are staying for New Years.

Matt in a private interview with Kerrang says:

Quote:
We are hoping to stay a few weeks in london to experience a typical english new year. We hope to have a new single recorded around 1 month after that and so may be in england for even longer travelling back and forth to gig's and tours...

Clearly this is extremely fortunate for the English fans, however there has been speculation as to Dominic Howard's engagement to his current American Girlfriend and may be one of the reasons as to the longer stay in London, this year.

More from Kerrang:

Quote:
'We've been dying to experience an English Christmas since last December. You know...tinsel, cards, organic trees, Father Christmas etc. Incidentally, did you know that Santa is not really a jolly Xmas icon, but is actually descended from the alien race, The Guacamoles? I read about it somewhere...dates back to Babylonian times, apparently. His red costume signifies the red planet he came from - Mars'

More from Kerrang:

Quote:
KERRANG: 'Are you sure about this? That seems a little farfetched'.

BELLAMY:'No, it's inscribed on the pyramids...in Egypt. When King Knossos invaded Thebes, his army carried off one of the smaller pyramids and his scribes wrote it all down;I've seen the photos. Well, not photos from Knossos's time, but you get the idea'

More from Kerrang:

Quote:
KERRANG: 'I'll look into that sometime. Any new releases planned for next year?'.

BELLAMY:'The EP's out in late January. The title might be 'Nexus', named after the main track. And it will probably include 'Zero Hour' and an acoustic version of 'Knights'.

Haha! I thought the red uniform was just to advertise Coca Cola that time. It was green before... THE GREEN PLANET!
Ichabod Crane

Actually, Santa Clause is a Satanic icon, invented by the coca Cola company. I think.
Ham of the Problematique

Why would Coca Cola invent a satanic Father Christmas? Weirdos.
Ju-Ju!

well thats the basic idea.. Matt likes to go to town with the ol' conspiracy..

More from the XFM interview:
http://cydonia.myfreeforum.org/ftopic299.php

Matt: "After the seaside tour is over, me and Dom are going to train as Punch and Judy showmen;we've already bought all the props and it's great fun. All we need now is a Black Holes-style tent"

Dom: "It'll be really excellent - we wouldn't want to do this in an amateur way, so we've set aside 3 months to train properly. Matt wanted one of our props (the string of sausages) to symbolise alien DNA strands, but I told him that was too highbrow for our audience;I mean, they're just kids...We tried to get Chris to act as Mrs Punch, but he told us to piss off, sadly."

Chris: "I'm going straight home after the tour. I'll probably need therapy and counselling after this. Expect a solo album in 2008."

Kerrang Magazine 9/11/06:

After recieving the K! award for Best Female Singer, Matt Bellamy agreed a private interview with our insiders:

So how does it feel to be winning such an amazing prize?

MATT Well.. it's really wierd. I mean it's always been something us as a band have always wanted to achieve but i never really thought that i'd be recieving it without the other guys.

Did this not go down too well with the band?

MATT Well Dom was off his head pissed because we were away at the time on tour and couldn't goto the award ceremony. But i think the band took it really well.

So how did Chris take it?

MATT who?

You know.... "Mmmm Beer?"

MATT [laughs] He was just happy for me really. Did you know beer was actually invented by the Zulu tribes in southern africa when they needed to get laid and all they had was the reject of the tribe...

Wow.. that's really... fascinating...Are you sure?

MATT Yea.. it's quite funny actually. There's this whole conspiracy that South Africa doesn't even exsist anymore. Its actually now called Southern Africa..

But isn't that the same thing?

MATT No.. not at all. It's really interesting actually...

We then asked what he wanted to do with his award...

MATT Don't know really. [Laughs] I guess stick it in an old box or something. Might give it to the GreenPeace charity .. what with it not being decomposible.. they can deal with it. I'm sure they'll be happy.

some of the things quoted in here, they're so bizarre i find myself having trouble believing they're authentic...
... but sadly, they are, aren't they?

well it's loons that really define infinite creativity in this finite world we live in, so i guess the loonier they are, the better.

Cydonia has been fortunate enough to be granted an exclusive interview with George Bellamy, Matt's father, and former guitarist with 60's legends, The Tornados. We spoke to George about Matt's childhood, Muse's success, and that hot-off-the-press story, Matt's engagement. Read on...

WORLD EXCLUSIVE - CYDONIA SPEAKS TO MATT'S DAD!

MATT'S DAD^

GEORGE BELLAMY: "Hello, who's speaking please?"

CYDONIA: "Hello Mr Bellamy, would you mind if we spoke to you about your son's band? We work for a Muse fansite, Cydonia..."

GEORGE: "Sure, that's fine. Fire away"

CYDONIA: "Wow, thanks very much! What was Matt like as a child?"

GEORGE: "Matt was always advanced, musically. He played piano by 4 years, and other things too - harpsichord, violin, kazoo... He was always dressing up in his mum's clothes - skirts, tights, high-heels....you name it, he wore it. We all thought he was nuts, but after he became rich, we realised that it was his artistic temperament"

CYDONIA: "Oh...well, you were a popstar yourself, weren't you? When did you feel that you & The Tornados had actually made it to the top?"

GEORGE: "When Telstar hit number one in the UK & US...the Queen invited us to Buckingham Palace for a tea party. Princess Anne was smoking a fag in the corner when she walked over to me and said 'Wanna go in the toilet, George?'. I was stunned...just think, I could have been royalty! Shame the wife was with me."

CYDONIA: "Er...last question. How do you feel about Matt's engagement to Gaia?"

GEORGE: "She's a cracking bit of stuff. I wouldn't mind a go, mate...I wish them both the best of luck - can't wait for some Plug In Babies, ha ha! Get it? Plu..."

CYDONIA: "Sorry, running out of credit...bye!"

:?

now i can take a second look and laugh long and hard.

thanks for all that. kept me amused for quite a bit.

but just to keep the amusement level for the other reason up, i think i'll just buy into this a little more: WOW! Bellamy's dad is QUITE the looker, ain't he?! I can totally see where JR no.2 got his charm from. Resemblance +10,000!!!1!1one!1one

Matt - "We're months away from Christmas"
Matt Bellamy on media lies, government cover-ups and why Santa Claus is a reptile from outer space

On August 26, Muse finished their World Tour of Britain by headlining the Reading Festival, a show the band themselves considered to be the high point of their career to date. The more observant Muse fans among the 80,000,000,000-strong crowd would have noticed frontman Matt Bellamy's boxer shorts bore the words 'Power Rangers',the title of a controversial kids show by Japanese toy-makers, Bandai .

Bellamy's endorsement of the show is all the more striking at the time when most major rock stars are loathe to voice political opinions of any kind, but then with songs on Muse's current 'Go Go Power Rangers!' album addressing alien invasions, media mind control and plastic dinosaurs that turn into Boeing 747s, Matt Bellamy has never been a 'regular' rock star..

Magazines like to paint you as a wierd guy; do you recognise yourself in articles you read?

MATT: I don't really get magazines and papers sent to me in Italy (Bellamy lives in a shed with his girlfriend Mike_Hunt near Lake Como). But I read some stuff online if I get sent links. I think people see me as slightly 'nuts', but I think that's a good place to be. In the world we live in I'd rather be out of the ordinary than ordinary because to be ordinary is to be part of a system that is very corrupt. And also skint.

Now that you're talking about conspiracies and politics are you attracting more crackpot fans?

MATT: Well, we do get some beserk types following us around, New Age types who'll turn up with crystals and tarot cards, but that's not what I'm really into. I try to keep all the stuff away from complete hocus pocus. I don't think I'm a full-on Mystic Meg. Mind you, Sabrina The Teenage Witch was hot.

Does anything in life throw you now?

MATT: The things that make me panic now are some of the conspiracy theories that I think about. It's like 'if that's true, we're in for a hard ride'. I've been saying for a few years that I think we are on the verge of Christmas, but I genuinely think its starting now...we're potentially months away from it now. Although it could just be something invented by capitalists to rip-off people who want a Playstation 46.

What makes you say that?

MATT: I've only got an N64. Crap.

Do you think you think too much?

MATT: Possibly. You've got a lot of time on you hands when you're in a band travelling all the time. Being in a band gives you the chance to step outside of the system, think more freely. The schooling system we have in the Western world is crazy - you're taken away from your parents at your most impressionable age and fed a load of bullsh*t and lies manipulated ro make you think that the way we live in the West is stable and moral, when really it's neither.
You come out of school with a one-track mind based on financial success, you're encouraged to become enslaved to the banking system. In school, I always felt, 'Something's not right here' and I'm starting to find out what it is. Being outside of the norm gives you freedom of thought and that's something being supressed in school and the media. If you have freedom of thought you get labelled as a crazy person, or someone strange, like Dom.

Are you happier than any other time in your life?

MATT: Very much so, yeah. But then I'm more concerned about things outside of myself than ever before. I've ousted the self doubt that plagues you in your early years but I seem to be much more unhappy with what's going on around us.

Is that because you control everything in your immediate world but feel powerless to control the wider world?

MATT: No, it's because because fans keep posting cupcakes through my letterbox. I was buried for three hours last week, until my fiancé pulled me out with a forklift.

And what can people expect to learn from the Power Rangers shows?

MATT: We are living at a time when there's massive suppression of what's really going on. Every truth, like the fact that yellow crash helmets are cool, is being suppressed.
Very soon we'll be encouraged to be microchipped, the ID cards are just the first step towards that. I STILL can't get served in pubs because I'm four-foot six, so what good is that going to do me?? These things are already happening and most people are happy to just chill out and not think about it. The differential between the bubble we live in - which is 'ordinary life' - and the reality out there is almost as heavy as what is being depicted in a film like 'Sooty and Sweep - The Movie'. It could make you puke to make that step towards finding out what's really going on.
Most people want to avoid looking into it and those people are like sheep and will say 'he's crazy' or even 'baaaaa' - even though the evidence is all there to be seen. The Darkness winning a Brit Award was clearly an inside job, there's massive evidence that suggests that it was allowed to happen, or even worse, deliberately made to happen...

Are you sure you want to be saying this on tape?

MATT: Yeah. I've been playing with the fear of talking about some of this stuff for some time, but now that Justin Hawkins has joined the Scissor Sisters, I feel safe.

Aren't you concerned that this sort of talk will get you on an FBI list?

MATT: When I think of the books I've ordered from Amazon, I'll already be on lists...'9/11 - THEY LET IT HAPPEN!', 'False Flags Ops For Dummies', and ''How I Did It' by George Bush...
People like me will be an easy target. I'll be an easy person to make look silly. And not just because of my shiny stage trousers and stripey wig.
Ham of the Problematique

That is hilarious.
