Muse's InfluencesI know there's a whole list available on musewiki.org, but judging by interviews and such I have come up with these bands as each member's favorite or most influential band:
Matt - Rage Against the Machine
Chris - The Beach Boys
Dom - Queen
I am very unsure on The Beach Boys for Chris, but from the little I've heard/seen in interviews they seem to be his favorite, or among them.
Does anyone have a better idea on their biggest influences as individuals?

Myself and Hannah are creating a 'Guide to Muse' for here and I remember Matt has a lot of classical music influences. Dom and Matt are huge Rage fans and Chris likes Korn.

I heard Dom was, I wasn't sure about the rest of the band. I am a huge fan of them as well, they're new stuff is a bit iffy though. Their peak was definitely White Pony.

Quite astounded nobody has mentioned Jeff Buckley or Tom Waits
And the European music scene, most especially Belgian music. Listen to riffery in Millionaire songs.

Damn muse being so mysterious with their new album!
Most other bands announce when their new album, but muse don't
But i guess that makes it better when it actually does come out, cause it makes it more of a suprise
Yeah, i heard Dom/Matt (can't remember who) mention in an interview that it will have a more electronica/dancey feel to the album, cause making supermassive black hole opened up a whole new genre to them. And apparently theres going to be a 12 minute prog rock guitar solo type thing...can't wait!

I read somewhere they are working on it now and have 4 or 5 songs done, so expect to hear a few at gigs this year.
(Please let us have an Absolution 2, or am I living in the past, BHAR was okay, but it wasn't Abs or OOS)

Well i know they are doing a 12 minute prog rock solo...can't wait to hear that!
To be honest, I think their albums have all be equally as brilliant...but its hard to compare them because they are all so different in the way they sound and the theme of the album...I mean, absolution is a brill album, but i wouldn't want an absolution 2 because then it would just be them doing similar songs to what they've already done, and thats when you know a band have lost their touch...but i don't reckon it will be an absolution 2.
They said they are going with more songs like SMBH on this album, cause recording that opened up a new genre to them...
Please let there be some gigs! I'm suffering muse withdrawal symptoms! I mean, listening to the album is great, but its nothing compared to watching them live!
Sorry about the rambling essay
