wheeee im a silverchair fan too, i saw them when they first came out over here, daniel was then only 15 bless him, and there were only around 30-50 people there!!! Love them!
my favourite has to be Isreals son! how powerful is that song??

i didnt really get into the newer album, i stopped being so obsessed after neon ballroom, i think i just discovered new music and moved on from silverchair but i hear they are back together now and making a new album, so ill definitley check that out

i could never get into Diorama, i have it, but i dunno, it just seemed not silverchair-ish to me, maybe i should get it out and listen again! i love silverchair b sides too! brilliant!!

Hey is Daniel ok now? has all the arthritis stuff cleared up now? he was really not well for a while there aww! he married Nat though in the end hoooray, he had a crush on her for forever, im so happy for him that it worked out!!! i think i always like bands earlier stuff, no matter who it is, for some reason i stay firmly stuck in the past hehe! clinging on to youth for dear life i bet :-) ;-)

hehe i can still remember how gutted i was when i knew they had got together! i used to be sooo in love with him, even though im old enough to be his mum! :-)

i still listen to them a lot but, im gonna really try hard to get into Diorama now!!

well I don't know about Diorama.. it was the first album I got from them, and it really hooked me.. but I love the others too..
but you gotta say.. Across the night and Tuna in the brine are pretty amazing songs...

i think i always find that if im into a band right from the beginning then i always like their early stuff better, same with Muse, Showbiz and OoS are my faves, i didnt really like absolution that much, but i do like BH&R. Having said that though, i loved Neon Ballroom, i thought that was an amazing epic of a record! so maybe if i give Diorama more of a chance i will end up loving that too!

ive just been for a listen, but i think its something that ill have to get used to really, its just not silverchair for me hehe, i love the early heavier silverchair best, but i love how healthy Daniel looks, its heartening to see what the love of a good woman can do

I totally understand, because personally I like the newer Silverchair sound better... Diorama is my favourite album (until the new one maybe he he). Though I listened to Tomorrow earlier, and it got me to thinking again that they were damn gifted for their age!!! That song hasn't aged at all IMO..

he does look healthy doesn't he. I wish he'd grow his hair back though lol but that's just my groupiness showing, ignore me he he he

yeah, i know what you mean, i have bands that i love, where i like the new stuff better than the old stuff, but with silverchair i was so passionate about them, i used to have a full length mirror and i taught myself how to play all the songs off frogstomp and freakshow from start to finish on the guitar, and on a night i would put my headphones on (i had a headphone socket on my distortion pedals, that also went into my stereo so you could mix the music and the pedal sounds, pretty cool) and i would play my little black heart out standing in front of that mirror! when i play those albums now, it brings back such strong good memories for me, i think thats why i love them so much, although im still madly in love with neon ballroom, and that album doenst have the same memories attached to it, could be something to do with the bloody thing being too hard to teach myself heheh!!! but i will go back for a listen and get hold of the new album too!

I think he started going a bit thin on top with his hair, i think thats maybe why he keeps it so short

I only discovered them about a year ago lol so being older and stuff I guess their newer stuff appealed to me more. Though I still cherish the other albums of course. Neon Ballroom is a gem, too. Too bad it was written in such conditions.. his state of mind, I mean.

oh yeah, silverchair were my obsession, i saw them loads of times, and always playing to small crowds because they werent very well known over here in the beginning! i discovered them when i saw Pure Massacre on mtv for the first time, which actually was released before Tomorrow! i was even a member of the LAS for a couple of years, i have a few hand written notes off the boys too, bless em! i wish that i could have got into Diorama, but i dunno, it was just not really my cup of tea for some reason, but i listen to the other albums all the time! yeah, the neon ballroom days were really sad, i worried about him constantly, he was so thin and ill looking! but then Natalie came on the scene and he started to get better, thank goodness!! maybe one day ill get into the new stuff, sometime i rediscover bands years later, so you never know

yeah, they were always huge in Australia, i always wanted to go live there when i loved them! i listened to frogstomp the other day and i forgot what a brilliant record it is, i really need to listen to them more!!!

Rock City is in my opinion the best venue EVER, its in Nottingham and I go there at least 8 times a year to see bands! Everything about it is perfect and even when you're at the back you are still near the stage and get a decent view.

we (the french board) are trying to get them to go back to Europe because they did like.. two gigs I think or something last summer when they came. Two were cancelled (Paris and Germany) because Dan was sick... so in the end the only countries to see them were the UK and the Netherlands for a festival. honestly next time I'm booking tickets for all the UK !!

Right now they're doing the Big day out in Australia.. ending beg. of February I think. Is that more info that you wanted? lol

Some Australian "fans" just want the Chair to play their old grunge hits like Tomorrow or Abuse me. And when they don't get what they want, they just throw everything they can find at the band on stage.

seems to me its pretty dangerous to be a rock star these days lol, i must admit i love all the old grunge stuff, but thats mainly cause i stopped following them after neon ballroom, but i think theres not much point going to see a band if youre not gonna embrace their new material! hehe, teenagers eh?

I'm kinda sad, we heard that Silverchair was not gonna be touring any more for the release of their latest album, Young modern

We'd hoped our petition would have *some* effet... but apprently not.

I'm just hoping that I do see them before I die, coz I never did, and between each new album there's always rumours of splitting up and stuff... I just wanna see my band live! Dammit.
