TatsI was pretty sure we had a topic about tattoos already, but I couldn't find it.
anyways..
I'm getting a second tat on Tuesday, and I'd need your input guys.
it looks like this:
ليس وداعا الى الأب
but I need to decide on the colour. It's gonna be about 3 inches long, on my inner left wrist.

snap! I get number 2 in just over a week!
I'm going to be totally predictable and say black. Personally speaking I just couldn't see any other colour working apart from maybe red?
That style of writing would be either of those colours in my opinion
I know Ian Watkins from the lostprophets has that style of tat and he has like a reddy brown...... sort of henna colour.
I've just confused the issue here

yeah that's what I thought too, black (that was my original idea) or dark red..
Then again the other day I had a dream and the tattoo was on my arm and it was exactly as intended, but dark blue.
Go figure.
what are u getting Ali?

I would love a tattoo, I just don't know what to get. I don't want to just get something for the sake of it, but I can't come up with anything! gr

got it yesterday as planned
I finally went for black. I was still kinda undecided, but the tatoo artist said it would look best in black so I went for it.
it hurt a lot dammit. Last one on the small of my back was really ok and quick (30 minutes for a 4 inch salamander). This one took 90 minutes for about 3 inches of Arabic lettering. It was very meticulous. He really took his time lol but the result is fantastic
pics as soon as I can get my camera to work (or borrow one from a friend).

yes I was still kinda undecided as to the colour when I got to the parlour, but the tat artist told me he'd reallly go for black, it'd look best, so I listened to him
next to me was a girl having a big tribal thingy on her lower back done. It was terrible coz she kept sobbing and whining because of the pain. And her tat artist told her "look at that girl there, the inner wrist is much more painful a place for a tat, and she hasn't said a word". I felt awful for her. I think we all have different tolerance for pain. Anyways.

I think all pain is relative to your own body. I sat with my friend getting her inner wrist done and it took ages she winced alright, but she didn't sob or anything. I think that guy just lied so that girl would shut up! haha
I will cry and probably puke!

Haha, i'm not sure how i'll react, i think i have a high pain threshold, but i dunno, i reckon i'll either not react at all, or i'll go over the top and start crying....

I'd researched it a bit prior to going (because I couldn't recall if my first tat had hurt that much or not). Apparently, the way you take pain depends on a lot of factors, ie whehter you had a good meal or not, whether you're tired or well-rested, whether you're stressed or not, etc.
That said, it's true that we all react differently. I'd have died before uttering a sob or anything lol but that's just my pride.
Even when I was in my 35th hour of labour back then I never cried or complained. Apparently I just looked very, very unhappy lol

I'm rather pleased with it
It didn't really hurt, I have a little relaxation technique that I used while it was being done, and I was too busy trying to work out what part of the design the tattooist was working on. I have a high pain thrfeshold anyway because of all the joint problems I have in my body.
There was a man next to me who was doing a fair bit of squirming during his
When it had been done the girl (I use that term for anyone under 25) praised me for being so still, and so good.
I used Bepanthen nappy cream on it as recommended by the tattooist, and it really worked. No scabbing and no 'burning' sensation like I had with my first one.
If anyone gets a tattoo I recommend Bepanthen, its the best, but I was told its the only nappy cream that is safe for use on tats.
