Let's talk people!

I know I want to talk about it, having a 6 year old in school and I know I'm not the only one in that situation (not that it's the only situation where you should be worried of course).

Ham of the Problematique

I'm not sure what I think of it really. I go through periods of sometimes getting really annoyed with all the hype (it's just FLU people!!) but then getting really worried about it myself.

My uncle had it and I kept well out of the way, he was hospitalised and everything, but he was fine in the end. Even more luckily, his three year old didn't catch it! I am mostly worrying because I have an autoimmune disease that means if I get it, I am likely to die (hence me getting crap like pneumonia a lot).

How are the school dealing with it Manu? Are they filling you with confidence or completely the opposite?

Nah the school really annoys me, I'm not sure what they told the kids but ever since they started school again a cuople of weeks ago Gab's been talking a lot about that "thing" (she never remembers the name) and they've been told not to hold hands anymore, to bring one of those gel thingies to wash their hands all day, that the school would close if too many kids get sick..
Which is true but still what's the point of explaining all that to 7 year olds.. they just get confused.

As for me... I'm not sure like you said Han I'm mostly annoyed with the over-exposure in the papers and stuff.. but it gets worrying too. They're starting to report deaths of young adults who were absolutely fine before they got the disease... I sure hope you don't get it Hannah!!!

I'm the same as Hannah really, there are times when I think that the media hype it up to a ridiculous amount, but then there are times when I think that maybe it could get me...I really don't know.
I think the worst I felt about it was when a close friend of mine got it, but instead of staying at home until they sent someone out to test her for it, she came into school to tell us all she was getting tested for it. I'm suprised noone actually caught it! That really annoyed me though, because it's just irresponsible!
