So with the league season started, and the premiership staring next weekend, who's the football orientated people here??

I think we all know I am, being a Geordie it's a religion to support the Toon Army (Newcastle United).

I think we're the most passionate fans in the country, we've won nothing since 1969, yet still 52,000 Geordies pack out St James' Park for the home games!

Plus the results of the football really do determine how good at atmosphere is in Newcastle City Centre.

Avid supporter since i was about 8, and became interested in football....but it also may have been the influence of most of my family...as we are a family of bluenoses

ah you were on about the atmosphere is Newcastle city centre, was in Nottingham last week, was most funny - Forest were playing their first game in whatever league they are now in and the amount of fully grown men walking around shouting on their way to the match. No idea who won, think it was a draw maybe, i know they lost yesterday. Jolly little souls you footy peeps when its all going well =D

Bolton on saturday... at home... easy win I feel/hope... I shall be watching Soccer Saturday while I'm in London (one of the lasses I'm staying with is a mad football fan too).

Man City bought out by an Arab oil tycoon... aparently 10x richer than Abramovic (Chelsea Owner). And they've already shown it, in 1 day they've put in a £31million bid for Berbatov and a £32.5million bid in for Robinho.

Newcastle have signed a couple of decent players, and Owen is definately staying with us.

I'm quite worried about Man City now though...

bah.... KK has gone.

I don't blame him to be honest... The way the club is being run at the minute is an absolute joke. The owner promised us money for players and gave us nothing instead telling Keegan to sell players if he wanted cash for new ones... Even then KK isn't doing all the calls, it's Dennis Wise... If he gets the managers job i will not be happy.

Newcastle United as they are at the minute are a f****** joke!!

Ashley should sell us to somebody who actually gives a shit about football.

There's only 1 person who is 'qualified' to take over from Keegan. And that's Alan Shearer. Him and Keegan are 2 people who know all about the club and all about the fans and they are indeed the only 2 people the fans respect enough to give time.

NOBODY outside the north-east knows how much football means to us, the reaction outside St James' after the news came through just says it all. One of the directors was seen leaving in a taxi and the taxi got mobbed... Football is life up here... We don't care what others think about it

1969 we last won a trophy, yet still 50,000+ people fill the stadium for every home game.

Now they've just said on the TV... Gus Poyet... He's just getting Dennis Wise's bumchums in to take over and ruin the football club!

Hull next saturday should be interesting to say the least... A mass exodus of fans is planned for that game if Mike Ashley isn't gone, which will damage Ashley's money takings to no end.

Correct!! Keegan was given false promises by Mike Ashley.

It seems Dennis Wise has been favoured over Kevin Keegan. This is NOT going to end well, I can assure you of it, we HATE Dennis Wise. Who's going to want to manage our club with what's going on... Answer... nobody.

Derby match on right now, 0-0 as I type this, easily the most important day of the season by far, the most fierce derby match in the UK, the pride of an entire region (not just 1 or 2 cities) of England rests on this match. This IS the derby match that rules all derby matches!

Played at the Stadium of Shite in Sunderland... They have never beaten Newcastle there, and not won at home for 28 years... Lets extend that to 29 please.

so i am not really a footy fan but you have to kinda support your local team dont you. Went to a wedding in Bridgend at the weekend - all the brides family are big Cardiff supporters and guess who they were playing on sat - yes Forest!

SOmeone we went with is a massive Forest fan and had his radio on, Cardiff fans also had.

The father of the bride announced the final score during his speech!
