The SubwaysLove this band, went to see them last night....here is my little review thing
Oh my god. What an amazing night. We were right at the front, which was great. Its the closest we've ever got to a band. The supports were great! Nomads 67 were pretty damn good, they were quite sociable with the crowd, and it was sweet how the lead singer took a photo of the crowd on his phone, we were probably the biggest crowd they've ever played to. And i got a drumstick off the drummer He was reaalllyy friendly and came and spoke to us afterwards. Twin Atlantic were brilliant. Even though I had never heard any of their music before, after the first song I was screaming like a nutter, the lead singer was just so sweet and the music sounded like it was coming from his heart. And finally, THE SUBWAYS! They were fantastic, no other way to describe it really...from the first moment they were on stage they just had this presence about them, they interacted with the crowd and played one of my favourite songs ever (Young for Eternity). When they played Mary, Billy said 'if you know the words, sing along' not expecting many people to know them, and when they started playing the crowd erupted in song, the smile on their face's was priceless. They played all of the favourite songs, from 'I won't let you down' to 'Oh Yeah'. At the end, when the played 'Rock and Roll Queen', Billy Stage dived right onto us, it was amazing! And now for the best part.....we met Billy Lunn! After the show, we were waiting around, hoping they would come out, and we met The Subways tour manager, and he got Billy to come out and meet us, it was probably one of the happiest moments of my life. He was so sweet and down to Earth, but it was so surreal. He has an amazing accent, and he told me he liked mine! It wasn't just like he came out, signed our merch and left, there was only Me and 3 of my mates there, so he actually stopped and talked to us, he was so amazing. It was so sweet when he said 'big hugs' when we first met him and when he left. It’s made my year. I just keep reliving the moment when we saw him walk round the corner, and we ran towards him, he just had this big smile on his face, it seemed like he was genuinely pleased to see us. Honestly, if you get the chance, go see this band, they are brilliant and have such an unbelievable amount of energy on stage. So, all in all....a good night.
By the way, incase people don't know....Billy Lunn is the lead singer of the Subways, i shall post the picture of me and my mates with him later
