What do you guys think of the t-shirts that say, 'SPEAK ENGLISH OR GO HOME?'
I just saw that shirt on the internet. Thought it was harsh and a bit rude to the people whose first language isn't English. :smt009

I think it is rude, but I do agree, that if you live in a country that doesnt speak your native tongue, you Should learn to speak the new one.

Saying that, I am living in Iceland 2yrs and can just about scrape by.

There are a few reasons for this, the cost is high for lessons and the availability is really bad. it is a really difficult language to learn and I am so bad at language anyway, everyone speaks really good english here, so you get lazy! Also, we hadn't intended to stay so long! I would love to speak it though, so we are seeing if the union will foot the bill for us

Learning a new language may be easy for some people, but what about those who just can't? I've seen some elderly people struggling to learn English... and I can certainly understand their pain because English isn't my first language either. I'd say you're very lucky considering English is the 'international language' at present. :-)

I wouldn't want to see ANYONE wearing such t-shirt, as I don't understand why native English speakers would be bothered by others speaking a language other than their own. I mean I don't care if someone's speaking Japanese in my country, that's their freedom isn't it? Besides, the majority of people in my country still speak English, why would I mind if the immigrants are speaking in their language?

Can you show me some photos of Iceland???

"all of a sudden britain goes into a racial fit of arresting every muslim with a turban on they see!!!WHY?? that was 5 individuals, and yes...there probably are far more...but not every muslim person is!! "

When have you heard of the police arresting any muslims? I certainly haven't, and they don't, unfortunately. They're too scared. Also, what you say about not every muslim, it's practically part of their religion for them (the muslims) to be the highest population on the planet, while us (the 'infidels' they call us) are to be killed. Muslims believe that they are in a higher place, if you like, than anyone of a different race/religion. That is why they choose to kill us and bomb OUR country/ies.
