I'm stuill learning (badly)lol, but i'd love to learn new techniques and chat about how you all started...so...lets get on with it :smt041 :smt035

I find that guitar tabs really help (me, at least). A decent site for tabs is:

it is a fantastic site!!!the only problem is sometimes they don't have the rarer songs...and ppl who've uploaded the tabs sometimes get it weong!!!!lol, but generally, the best one i'm aware of!

I used to play guitar - am absolutely poop at it now, can just about get Archives of Pain out of it (well the first few notes anyways) !

I started playing because all my friends do, and stopped because I couldn't pick it up so put it down. Now I've decided I'm going to try to pick up the mandolin and learn to play that. It could be really fun.

ooo the Mandolin - thats different - sorry to sound stupid but how many strings does it have?

Mandolin has 8 strings divided up into twos. Two will be really close and called double string and then a gap and then two more really close and double string. So it's like 4 groups of 2 strings making up 8... so yeah...

yeh i use the site shown above for tabs, i find it really usefull.
i've just taught myself, the only thing that's helped me out is practice. and lots of it!
